Description
For Pittsburgh:
Staal fills the 3rd line Center role
Neiderreiter is a great wing pivot that plays a hard nose game with upside

For Min:
Sheary fills the goal scoring conundrum that they ran into at the end of the year.
Sprong is another nice young piece that has shown promising goal scoring potential at the highest level.
Pouliot was the high D selection made by Ray Shero who's Assistant GM at the time was none other than Min GM Chuck Fletcher, so he knows what they saw in said prospect.

Again doubt would happen but I really like this deal and wish more GM's were open to take chances.

Not really the best return for the Wild.

They get a bottom six forward (Sheary) ; a prospect who didnt make the cut on a weak prospect group (Sprong) ; and a bust (pullout) for Eric Staal (retained) and Nino.

Those three players alone dont get you Nino, and adding Staal and RETAINed salary is going to cost you a whole lot more.

Exchange the 2nd round pick for a 1st and add Hornqvist and Minnesota would probably take that deal

Your assment of these players is in outer space. Sheary has the best pts/60 5v5 in all of hockey and Sprong is a stud winger. He wasn't needed by the Pens last year and had a little work to do on his 200 ft game. He will be in the Pens top 9 this year...which is like anyone else's top 6.
Rutherford won't include him any deal. He will be their top right winger by 2018-19. Pens are very high on him.
