I think this could be possible if the trade gets done before walker does. If the flames still have Hanifin on their hands come tomorrow I think they will become extremely desperate. Especially if teams interested in him like Boston end up getting lindholm. Florida just got vlad. And Toronto well Hanifin isn’t waiving for them. Tampa could downgrade the package because Calgary might have no other option. Plus Hanifin has been talked about heavily when it comes to signing in Tampa so we could see a weaker return like we just saw vlad get after it came out he wants to go to florida

The Flames are set on the wings for a few years so letting him develop for a few seasons isn't a big deal in my opinion. We're also really lacking RW prospects.

Gauthier isn’t my favorite prospect personally. I wasn’t happy when we drafted him.
Not a big fan of him developing in the Q but he could definitely hold his value as of now so your getting a 1st, 2nd rounder and a NHL ready player you can probably flip again
