At this point, it seems likely Hanifin is going to be dealt to either Boston or Tampa. If the Wings want to upgrade their blue line, another possible trade is for Walker. He’s on an expiring contract, but would fit in with Detroit and could possibly be extended.

    A, way to much to give up on a an expiring contract playr, who.is not a top defenseman. Also why does everyone dump on Maatta, he has 15 points but is a plus 18, meaning he isnplaying a solid defensive game. Is he great, no, but he is cheap and he is not a black hole defensively. What they need is a RHD, with some term to replace either Petry or play 3rd pairing minutes without giving up 2 prospects unless he can play top 4 minutes
