Honestly, if we did this trade we could trade Norris somewhere for a RHD then have this center depth:

Stutzle
Pinto
Pageau
Kastelic/UFA

With Greig on the wing.

I doubt Norris will get much value right now because of his injury history and length of his contract.

Isles don’t trade 2 1sts for Chychrun, even for Lou that’s overkill, plus that’s higher than Chychrun’s value anyways.

No way in Hell the isles make that offer to Ottawa....Let him stay there in misery!

Unfortunately for us other teams will be able to offer just a 1 & 2 with solid prospect(s) (of which we have ZERO) who could easily outbid us so we need to overpay. Im assuming this is the same package we offered that was confirmed to be preferred over what Detroit that we offered for Debrincat. This is a huge win for us you don’t say no to paying this for a running mate for dobson this is not a lateral move this opens and extends our chances for years to come.

We don't need him, we have Romanov as Dobson's pairing....Don't want any part of him. First he was not happy in Arizona (I get it), now there's rumors he will not resign with Ottawa when contract is up. He's never happy. Don't want that anywhere near our clubhouse.

Both teams have toxic cultures and bad teams. Romanov is NOT a top pairing defenseman his positioning is busch league at best he isnt it for dobson i like the player but that isnt his tool set. JC is elite and would make our tram significantly better. HUGE L TAKE.

Chychrun is not a winning player and overrated. Doesn't play defense. He wants to move on from is 2nd team now. I'm not buying, not at the price Ottawa and most fans think he's worth. Whether you believe Romanov is a good pairing with Dobson or not. He's a solid #2 D pairing guy and he's young. You want to move a 1st, move it for a top line young offensive player.
