Watched this guy play last night against Pitts. This guy would be a nice fit. He is like a bigger, more physical Lily. Has another year of term after this. I would 100% do this trade to somewhat solidify the backend

Agreed but you're giving too much value for a bottom/second pairing dman. Lily's value is a 1st - Robertson a 2nd.

No chance Lily gets a 1st from anyone. He is on the last year of his deal. Robertson is absolutely, most definitely not worth a 2nd and he is going down the more they play him. He looked scared to be on the ice yesterday. Have no use for Robertson in this system. We have enough soft, small offensive forwards.

Everything at this deadline has been an overpay. Would have to make sense for Seattle to do it. Borgen is a big upgrade over Lily IMO. Robertson looks out of place. So a couple mid picks with Lily to get a guy that could really help us against Florida or Boston(with term too)

I don't agree that Borgen is an upgrade... Lilly might be smaller, but he's one of the best 2 way defensemen in transition... You need that in the playoffs...

I'm fine with Robertson getting traded, but I'd rather gain a pick for Robertson for when Jarny comes back... I'd even retain 300K on Robo to maximize his value and we could prob gets a team willing to spend a big chunk of assets for him...

Then watch the team for the NYR game and Bruins game and adjust from there... Dubas' mistake was making 8 moves at TDL without having a feel for the team (I mean 4-5, but you know what I mean) and the issue there is that he couldn't evaluate them and see what else they needed

Watch Borgen play if you get the chance. Very reliable in his own end. Contributes offensively and hits everything that comes across the blue line or in the corner. Addresses every need Leafs fans are looking for in a D.

Dubas realized the team lacked heart last year and tried to make up for it at the deadline. I thought his acquisitions at TDL last year were some of our best players in playoffs last year. Too little too late and they were all rentals with no intention on staying.

Leafs already have 3-4 Borgens though... They only have 1 Lilly with the other being Mo...

I think that's another issue... But Dubas didn't address our need for a 1LW (thank god Knies came through, but then he got hurt and it became obvious again)... Bc, he would have also acquired Bert last TDL and he might still be here as Bert goes off in the playoffs

I’d say the closest thing we have to Borgen is McCabe. And would absolutely love another one of him.

I think Borgen's a good target, but not one at the expense of Lilly+Robertson+3rd

I’m sorry but against Florida Lily will disappear. Robertson looks timid, not really doing much of anything out there

Sandin fetched a 1st and roster defencemen last year. Lily is worth the same if not more because he's RHD and better defensively.
