Love the very idea of Vejmelka but he'd be a costly addition. Great tandem for at least one more year but then comes decision time. Bjugstad isn't really an answer at 2C however.

Moving MacDermid anywhere is a great move but the Avs won't do it for some unfathomable reason. Great guy in the locker room no doubt but even so......

Asssuming Landy comes back, I think Bjustad will be the best we can do at 2C with our cap space, unless we can get someone like Roslovic on a 1 year prove it deal or we'll have to trade a defenseman.

I think we'd be looking at very much more of the same as we've got going for Bjugstad. A D is almost certainly going to be moved anyway and it's possible another player may have to be whether D or F. Personally I'd stand pat with RyJo rather than deal out more assets to add another guy who simply won't fit the bill. Moving more assets only makes sense if you've got at least a reasonable chance at fixing it.

That's why I would rather go for frost and walker and use walker as a rental. I'd try and trade for vejmelka straight up.

No need to trade a D really if going after Frost.

Avs literally have no cap space unless they waive macdermid and that might possibly fit frost if you don't trade ryjo or anyone

That's one option, but remember in a trade for Frost you'd likely be sending a contract out to make it work so can send someone else down if necessary.
