Description

With the Tanev trade complete and Seguin still on IR. I believe that Stars could move Seguin to LTIR to free up a large amount of cap space and make a large splash.

That splash could be another RH Defenseman however with the 4 usable LH D-man we have, I don't see Dallas making any more moves on Defense.

But if Seguin's injury does take him out and make it questionable for the playoffs, then an additional forward is needed and with the LTIR relief we could get so many players.

The report is that the ask for Guentzel is a 1st and a prospect. Dallas is sending a fairly high rated defensive prospect which with the aging defensive Vets and lack of defensive prospects, would be appealing to Pittsburgh. The 1st and a conditional 3rd that becomes a 2nd if Jake Resigns I believe is a fair offer.

This way if Seguin does return during the playoffs, Dallas could pull a Tampa and recreate the Duchene, Seguin, Marchment Line and move Guentzel up with Johnston and Benn and Send Logan back down to just rip up the AHL playoffs hopefully and grow some more.

That's not enough for Jake Pretzel. I guess this would push Marchment down to the 4th line when Seguin returns and if they keep Stanky. I don't know, not really sure they need to spend any more assets on offense, especially since it'll cost way more than that

You are right. I edited the trade to reflect as well as changed the conditional to increase the chance Pittsburgh takes the deal.

That's understandable. Looking at reports it seems it may be borderline so I could see this being a fair trade and I could see this not being a fair trade. I think it would be best to send Stankoven to the minors and give him much more minutes and to build his playoff poise when the Texas stars enter the AHL playoffs.
