I'd have to agree with you for the most part. Not sure that I see anyone ponying up much more than this though and that's besides being able to fit his cap in even at 50% retained.

The drop in his play the last few years is concerning but there's not many better options actually available right now. I prefer him to a guy like Walker, for example, who has zero playoff pedigree while Dumba seems to show up when it matters.

Stand pat if hes the only option

If we want him sign him to a 1 year 1.2m deal this offseason

Hes not good and would be a needle moving in the wrong direction for us

If no other options, he's worth a gamble IMO. You can't discount his playoff experience, playing important minutes when it matters most:

Year Team League GP G A Pts +/- TOI S
2022-23 Minnesota NHL 6 0 1 1 0 22:53 9
2021-22 Minnesota NHL 6 1 0 1 4 21:31 15
2020-21 Minnesota NHL 7 1 2 3 -1 23:39 6
2019-20 Minnesota NHL 4 0 1 1 1 25:03 14

Yea look at all that little to no production. NTU. You can play lots of playoff games but it dont mean your good. He never helped the Wild get a playoff series win.

The offense is gone, defense sucks, NTU

If were using that logic can just go get Collin Miller or Zach Bogosian lul

But you're not even using the proper logic. Neither of these guys have played anywhere near the kind of playoff minutes Dumba has in the in the last 4 years. If we're gonna go back much further beyond that, then yeah, might as well bring in Jake Gardiner lol

Ultimately, we're talking about a scenario where there are little to no other options and IMO he'd be worth be worth a gamble, at a minimal cost.

That went out the window the moment you thought Dumba was a good trade target lul

Who cares for mins and ****. When you bad you bad. Some teams got 0 choice but to give useless players to much ice. Just ask Justin Holl lul. Dumba is basically is a pylon on skates NTU

Dumba is a negative acquisition I dont know how I can define that any better

Wont entertain this silly discussion any longer as the saying goes cant see it cant help yah

Dude, what part of "Ultimately, we're talking about a scenario where there are little to no other options and IMO he'd be worth be worth a gamble, at a minimal cost" can you not understand? And, Dumba is not a negative acquisition when he's replacing one of Gio, Lagesson or TImmins for the playoffs. IF it came to not having better options, I'd rather roll the dice with Dumba than stand pat with the current D. How is this so hard to comprehend?

If there be no options would rather stand pat

Rather have Lagesson over him

End of story

One game stat to show someone good when they not

Here's his season as a whole NTU
