It’s always funny seeing the trades on here then comparing them to the actual trade and being so far off. I swear flames fans wanted a 1st, minten, Trelivings right kidney and a %50 stake in Boston pizza for tanev but it’s just a 2nd b prospect and conditional 3rd (still solid package)

I don't mind that second trade for CHI. I think I'd rather take Robertson than a 3rd and the added picks help smooth over any hesitation to take him.

Remember though he wants that 5th round pick going to another team for retention. So it TJ @ 50% to the Hawks for Robertson + 4th. Then the 5th going somewhere for double retention.

Doesn't bother me. A 5th round pick is almost worthless and Robo is worth more than the difference between a 3rd and a 4th, and the probability of a 3rd round pick even getting an ELC is about as good as Robo turning things around, staying healthy, and being a long term NHLer. The difference is, if Robo does all those things he could still possibly be a top 6 forward, and if a 3rd round pick gets an ELC they MAYBE become a bottom of the lineup player at the NHL level.
