Back to Timmins is terrible, with term and takes a roster spot that they can fill with close to anyone else. If the deal on the table was a player and a 1st for Tanev retained they will find nearly 30 offers with a more serviceable palyer.

We need Timmins, we have to keep him not good not good,.
Lol had to complain and not agree just for the title of the post. For what Calgary is looking at the trade is good, for Toronto decent. Personally I wouldn't do it, but it's not a bad trade. Toronto may have no other choice.

i like it. Calgary gets the first they've been asking for by also taking on a minor cap dump in Timmins

only thing is if TOR wanted to get rid of him they'd probs just put him on waivers and if he clears thats great and if he doesn't its not a big deal at all

Timmins is not as bad as everyone points him out to be. He has been a serviceable 7th defenceman with good offensive ability for the Leafs. He can even still improve to be in the top 6. He will most likely never reach his ceiling in the draft which was a top 3 defense but Timmins is a good depth option and right handed. Calgary was reportedly preferring a 1st but willing to drop to a 2nd. If Calgary can get a 1 st and Timmins where no one offers anything better I can definitely see. It all depends on the other teams and what they offer.

Timmins was on pace for 42 points last year in under 14 minutes a night, calm tf down calling him a barely servicable d-man & he is a buriable cap hit so why are you whinning?

Just drop the 3rd and 4th pick swap and this probably does it.

All of which came in a small stretch of games and then he returned to exactly who is and has continued that trend this season. Of his 12 assists last seasons 5 were 2nd assists, similar this year in that 2 of his 5 ar 2nd assists. If they're able to bury him then why don't the Leafs just do that? Flames acquire him just to bury him and run him through waivers?? Seems backwards no?

He gets the highest offensive deployment of active Leafs d men against by far the worst competition of active Leafs players. He's given sweet heart situations and still is replacement level at best.
