Might have to take a bad contract back and do some retention to get it done like Faksa or Dadonov if we Traded him to DAL for a 1st + Bourque + B RD Prospect + C Prospect

I think we could Trade him for a haul just as a rental, but would certainly get more if we could pair him with a team he will extend with. How short that list is, I don’t know, but there’s a handful of Eastern & Southern Teams that could use him and have a need and he has ties with a Team like the Vegas Knights as well. I’m hoping he’s open to more than just East Coast Teams/Boston or the annoyingly rumoured Tampa Bay Lightning

Players traded with extensions are rare. Additionally trying to get contract negotiations in place makes negotiating all the more complicated. Wouldn’t think it would be particularly meaningful more than adding a 3rd or so to the price

It helps push a deal through too that wouldn’t happen otherwise

Hopefully Hanifin’s Agent has permission to discuss extensions with those GM’s and/or anything that can be done to maximize Hanifin’s value is what’s being done

I like RFA control a ton.

I value prospects over picks.

I am generally not very high on goalies because of volatility

he's a project. has not looked good in the AHL. I wouldn't quite call him a throw in but I don't think Dallas liked how he reacted to North American professional hockey.

There was no better return out there tho. Tanev had been on the market for a LONG time, nothing was really gonna chance.

I’m disappointed and would have much preferred Dellandrea, Arcuri or Minnetian as the Prospect coming back
