I think you're going to be disappointed with the cap hit if it's an 8 year term then lobbydangles. On an 8 year deal I predict a cap hit of at least 8 mill per. Less years will bring down the cap hit, but it will be interesting to see where the term ends up.

Leon may be one of the rare cases where it would be beneficial to do a bridge deal, to prove that he can consistently drive a line of his own before the huge payday.

Agreed. Leon might be worth 8 x $8.4MM, but he hasn't proved it yet. People are comparing his contract to Tarasenko's, which is ridiculous - imagine how many goals Tarasenko would have scored playing on McDavid's wing? I'd put money on sixty.
