Description

After the pens presser today I think the goal for the FO is going to be to free up space where possible for the summer.

Obviously you could add Jake, I'm choosing to leave him out of a trade and that the penguins will resign.

Eller is the big question here. Center's are going to be the hot commodity at the TDL, we've already seen a 1st for Monahan and a haul for Lindholm.

Washington reportedly wants a 1st for Nic Dowd which I think his hilarious.

Eller is on pace for 28 points this year and he's essentially played with AHL wingers all season, so moving to a contender I can only see his production elevating.

I don't know what team makes the most sense though... I know Colorado needs Center help, and Eller is familiar with the system, but they don't have much to offer. Boston could probably also use Center help, but no 2024 2nd there either.

(Dallas fans if this is no good for the need right now I get it).

Will have follow up for the summer retool.

The best thing about Eller is he’s playing like he’s one of the other only guys on the team really playing to win. He’s been a very solid piece in that bottom 6. If there’s something I’d want to experience with first is playing him as a top 6 player. Which maybe stupid to some people but when seeing him play I feel like people will understand.

I definitely disagree there.

The going rate for Ned seems to be a 2nd, and there are multiple playoff teams that need a goalie upgrade.

Center is also a hot commodity and you get a good price for Eller's AAV, and in this scenario the Stars would save money by moving Faksa.

With that many playoff contenders needing goalie help, the Pens could use that leverage to extract a 1st plus potentially for Nedeljkovic.

Only one more year, for a guy like him and with cap going up I don't think it will.
