So they should take a bad offer? Hanifin is by far the best defenseman on the market and can only block a trade to 8 teams. He will 100% be traded but he will cost a lot more than that

I'm literally a fan of both Tampa and Calgary. I can say with 100% confidence that Calgary doesn't value Jeannot at all, Gauthier is a C level prospect and a 1st in 2026 has drastically less value than a 1st in 2024. This offer isn't even in the ballpark of what Calgary would ask for

Can't exactly say I'm thrilled at the thought of Nick Paul being the 2C or losing Stamkos even if he's slowing down for now, can probably get a better price for Perbix from a desperate enough team, no way we should move him to our in-state rival.

Though I do think the idea of buying out Sheary is probably what would happen this off-season. Might be cheaper than moving more futures just to dump 2M for 2 years.

Well hanafin doesn’t want to play in Canada so that removes them from contention without even needing his mntc which then leaves 11 playoff teams and if he blocks out the 8 that need him most then that only leaves them with 3 playoff contenders to work with and if they don’t need a dman then they may have no other option to take tampas best offer
