With LOTS of Cap Space this year, I say go for it. Sign (and trade for guys at the deadline) guys to 1 year contracts, add depth, and go for the Cup. If they dont get there, cut ties with the one year contract guys that you dont need and clear space to pay for the ones you do.
For the next few years, they will be tight to the cap, but with McJesus on the team, they will always be contenders.

Kane trade probably won't happen, but if they could get him, it would add scoring (which you can never have enough of).
Jagr signing to add experience to the line up.
Polak signing is more for playoffs. He's tough as nails and is good defensively.
Although they have good young players, when it comes to playoffs, you can never have enough depth. Injuries happen and can happen quick.
