I agree 100%, this ain't it, and won't happen. It's too complicated a deal, and not the right pieces for the right team (Detroit) ... Lyon is a decent stop-gap right now, and Cossa is improving and hopefully could be ready for the NHL in a couple of years. Markstrom isn't it for this group.

However, I will say, @mikearky, Markstrom isn't really having a down year. He's 5th in the NHL in save percentage amongst goaltenders facing 1,000 shots or more, at .913. The top goaltenders facing less than 1,000 shots right now are Adin Hill (595 SA, .931), Jeremy Swayman (909 SA, .922), Jonathan Quick (555, .917), Linus Ullmark (838, .914), Joel Hofer 558, .914), Tristan Jarry (963, .914), and Charlie Lindgren (681, .913), that are above Markstrom in SV% ... in terms of starting goaltenders with starting goaltender minutes and shots faced, Markstrom is amongst the best on a non-playoff team.

I agree Markström currently has the 2nd best GAA and his SV% is currently above his average.

Markström is 34 and so is Tanev. Considering the Wings aren't even a playoff team yet it doesn't make much sense to trade for them at all. ASP is an RHD already drawing a comparisons to EK65 and I wouldn't trade him for Hanifin straight up. Especially with Edvinsson who will make the team out of camp and Walman has played great with Seider. Plus Wallinder and Johansson all getting close to making jump. You Forgot about Augustine and honestly he might be ready before Cossa, Depending on how long he stays at MSU.
