Canes pass. Not moving Necas for a goalie.

not even for a top 5 goalie in the league? I mean how often do those become available? Canes have a surplus of offensive fire power and I think really all they’re lacking is a goalie. I’m not a canes fan tho so I don’t really have the same perspective as you might have.

The value is probably right, but it doesn’t make sense for the canes to trade their own truly dynamic player for a goalie.

First of all, Saros isn’t a top 5 goalie, top 10, absolutely, but top 5 is not where he is at, especially this year. Second of all, Canes have managed to get to the ECF with a rotation of Mrazek and McElhinney, and again with Andersen and Raanta. With the style the Canes play, they don’t need elite goaltending to go far, and that’s shown. Where their problems have been has been when the offense dries up. Moving a top 6 forward just to stop a few extra goals is rather pointless. Canes might only allow 1-2 goals each game (if not 0) with Saros in net, but if they can’t score enough to surpass even that, it’s just going to be another early exit.
