I'd like those moves

If the Devils move a 1st for a goalie, I hope it is at least for one with more than one good season under them.

Daccord and Dumolin are good but not big enough improvements to warrant the Devils moving a 1st.

Daccord has been playing very well for last couple of years, just hadn’t gotten opportunity to play regularly. He was best goalie in AHL last year. And it’s not uncommon for goalies to arrive at his age (Markstrom wasn’t starter until he was 27). Daccord is a technically sound goalie so even if he fell off a bit, he would be able to correct. Comes from family of goalies, dad is a goalie coach at BU. Only making $1.2n for two years. I think he would be worth it.

Just too much for me for a question mark.

Fitzgerald is starting to give me late term Lou vibes: doing trades to fix holes that just cause more holes by trading all the picks and young players. The Devils have VV, Daws, Schmid, and I guess Poulter, I'm fine at this point to see give them time and see if any of them can be the starter long term.

I am 100% with you. The way Daws is playing, even with some expected reversion, is giving team some confidence.

If we could plug some holes using minor assets...or add a piece or two that fill longer-term needs with discounted players (like the Siegenthaler trade a couple years ago), that would be ideal.

Maybe an upgrade over Bahl at 3LD, maybe a new 3C option, maybe a goalie....if its right.
