If Colorado is going to make that trade, why not exclude Carolina and make the trade with Colorado and Pitt only?

Duchene has the same cap hit for less years and is a top faceoff man, also can play on Crosby's wing and provide the team with an amazing offense.

Because I personally don't think Duchene wants to be a third line center and Staal is a better fit for what the pens want out of thier third line center. But in order for Carolina to do this they want a first line caliber center (Duchene is this)

Take a good look to how Hawks manage their cap and the consequences of their mistakes nowadays. They won 3 cups in the past. Ok. But I can assure u that he'll NEVER win another one before a rebuild! Make my words.

After saying it...really bad idea and I'm sure that a GM so great and smart like Rutheford won't EVER think about sacrifice our D and our cap in a trade like that.

It's far to many assets to fill a 3rd line role ... Just makes no sense to go after a player over $4.2m to play on a 3rd line and expect to have depth to win going forward.

Duchene can play first line left wing next to Crosby instead and create an explosive offense.

Either way, $6 mil for a 3rd line center is way too much
