Description

Reports have identified Jake Guentzel as the Oiler’s ‘guy’, so I wanted to see what it would take to make the deal work. What do you guys think? 1 first and two players taken in the 1st with some seasoning on them. I think they are a good fit in Pittsburg who are trying to get younger. People think you can’t trade Campbell with that contract but if the Oilers retain 45% that cuts the aav for Pit to roughly 2.6 mil which is a decent price for a goalie with a ton to prove. It’s also a cheaper option long term for the Oilers than buying out. If Pit takes that on and trades Jarry or Nedeljkovic for more younger assets/picks they can see if Campbell can bounce back in a backup roll next season. Anyway, what does Oilernation and Penguin fans think? I’m not trying to offend anyone, positive vibes in the chat please.

The Penguins would need to move a goaltender to acquire a goaltender. Nedeljkovic has played well as the Penguins' secondary goaltender. If Nedeljkovic is to be extended, then Campbell is not needed.

Pens need a forward with some snarl. Haven't had that since Hornqvist left. And the power play needs a net front presence.

I don't think the Pens are going to rebuild and sell all vets for youth. I think they want to re-tool and try to compete for the playoffs next season.
