I've always been in the: I'd like Bjork and JFK to get some time in the AHL before they become everyday NHLers club. This would be a way to make that happen. We still end up with a Karlsson at 3rd C, but it's William Karlsson instead of JFK.

We exchange McQuaid for McNabb to keep Kevan Miller from playing the left side. I've only just recently thought the following idea: Kevan Miller started the year on the left side with Collin Miller, but they flipped spots after half to 2/3rds the season was over. Judging from that and also the fact that Sweeney is still looking for a LHD, I think they might not be as comfortable as we are about playing Kevan Miller on the left side next year. There could definitely be some of those feelings in play by making a deal like this because I think McQuaid is more proven than McNabb and Spooner the same when compared to Karlsson, but McNabb and Karlsson would fit our needs better. The Pick doesn't really matter, but I wanted to give us something and Vegas had 2 5th's and we had zero, so it seemed to work for both teams that way.

A big part of this mock is to set us up at the deadline. The 5M space would allow us to bring in one of James Neal, JVR, Bozak, Fillpula, Jack Johnson, Evander Kane or David Perron depending on who's for sale. I feel like we could take a big step forward this year by adding McAvoy to the mix and getting more out of our depth scorers. I believe Czarnik at .27PPG, Beleskey at .16 PPG and Hayes at .09, will surely be improved upon by them or their replacements. They got over 150 games combined and at performing that low a rate it surely weakened us. Heinen gets Hayes' minutes, Beleskey rebounds and Vatrano plays a full season.
