FutureGM. Think this type of deal is possible. Let's leap forward a bit in time. If Chara can show he can stay healthy and mobile, he could help a team on a Cup run, like Anaheim.
Let me tweak your deal: Chara (and his salary retention as you suggested) for Stoner......This evens up the money for Chara for Boston. I know Stoner is just a serviceable Dman but he has an OK contract for 3 years (like Chara).
Then the Bruins would receive....youth and talent. Maybe Ritchie and a first rounder (high 20s or 30) as you suggest. Could Boston extract potential stars like Vatanen or Lindholm who are NHLers instead of Ritchie, Manson and 1st?
Anyway, it a good thought putting these two clubs together to make a deal. Certainly others might have other tweaks, but this is what make Armchair GM fun. Good work FutureGM.

And thanks Palhal. I really do think ANA and BOS could be good trade partners come TD if the B's are out of it. The key for the Bruins would be getting a player like Ritchie back. I love his skill set and think he'd make a great Bruin. I don't think Boston could grab a Lindholm or Vantanen though. Adding Chara while subtracting either of them defeats the purpose of going for a cup. And even still, i don't think Chara is worth either, with salary retained.

Just to go off your deal, i could do the cap dump with Stoner, though not sure he's a real need. Trading Chara opens up a defensive spot for another guy to step in. I do like Manson, he could slide into a spot as well, basically why i included him.
