Hard to say no to any deal with Kyle Connor included…but it would hard to price to pay to include three of our top scoring options.

I’m not saying all of these players be included in the deal for Connor. I’m just saying that a few of the players listed be in the return to Wpg.
What type of player is Bastian?

Was mostly kidding about Bastian. He is big body 4th line RWer who can dial up physicality when needed. Not really a pest. Has some good hands…usually good for handful of goals around net. Defensively solid…plays some PK. Long reach, quick stick. Not very fast. Good team guy.

If the names you mentioned, Nemec is probably the least available. Mercer is usually untouchable. Holtz probably an option. Toffoli could be too.

Maybe a scenario around Toffoli (at 50%) and Holtz and something for Connor.

Or just Holtz for Samberg+Lucius.

Yeah if I'm the NJD Nemec isn't going anywhere unless I'm getting something similar in value for him but right now that isn't going to happen. So yeah I agree Nemec is untouchable. But I thought I was reading somewhere that Mercer was falling out of favour in NJD. That might have just been some clowns on this site speculating and not actual factual.
I really hope that Samberg isn't available to teams. I know everyone is replaceable but Samberg has really turned into the player I thought he was going to be. I also think that there is more to his game than what he is already doing. He is unfortunately on a team that values the veteran guys instead of guys with talent and can make the team better. There is no way that Samberg should be playing less minutes than Dillion or Pionk.

Mercer is a core piece here. Plays center, wing. Plays PP, PK. Plays any line. Plays in dirty areas. Never takes a shift off (literally…since he has arrived in NHL in 2021, has played every game in regular shifts). Is loved by teammates, coaches. Definitely has never fallen out of favor. More likely gets extended 8-years at end of season.

Holtz is the guy who is often in the doghouse. Lindy Ruff doesn’t give him a ton of ice time. He scores…but will often be last in ice time. Has lead to big debate among Devils fans…play him more vs trade him. But kind of waste to get 5 minutes off 4th line. Especially when has has lead team in 5v5 pts/60.
