Description

Columbus has a bright future. There team is young, and they have depth. The only problem is cap space. With Atkinson, Bjorkstrand, Jenner, Murray, Calvert and Johnson looking for new contracts next year, they either trade those players or stick with it and ride it out. I think trading for cap space is their best bet since they still have depth. Campbell signing is for his experience, especially as they head into the playoffs. Chaisson is for added depth. If they could sign Jagr or Iginla for under $1.5Mil, do that instead.

I think CBJ is the best destination for Duchene but it'll likely take more than that to get a deal done. I don't think Avs are thrilled with Murray as he is seen as a 5th defenseman on this team and CBJ is getting a #1 center. Jenner is a good piece coming back for the Avs but I think another prospect or a 1st round pick is required to make the Avs bite. If Duchene gets traded, I really hope it's to CBJ.
