This one makes the Devils think and think hard, but probably gets turned down by them because of Dawson Mercer. His cap number is small (even though he is an RFA after the season), and is too integral a part of this season's team to trade away. If the Flames have interest in some combination of Corey Stillman/Graeme Clarke/draft consideration instead of Mercer, this becomes more feasible from NJ's view. Alternatively, subbing in Seamus Casey for Mercer and including draft consideration back from the Flames might also be palatable to Fitz.

Bravo. Not the worst deal I've seen proposed.

Nah... Calgary might consider Holtz instead of Mercer but I dunno since Holtz can't play center.

Wouldn't put either in for an unretained markstrom.

Siegs for Hanifin maybe. Siegs is MUCH cheaper contract

But not paying Holtz for an unretained markstrom
