No shot your getting a 1st for nic dowd

Got a second for Lars Eller from COL last year (and he was terrribleeee last season), and Dowd has another year left on his contract at a very affordable rate. I don't think a first round pick for him, especially a late first, is out of the realm of possibilities for an elite defensive forward.

Monahan got a 1st and is significantly worse defensively (Dowd top 10) and has less term (dowd low cap hit). Monahan also is a PP merchant on the Habs. 46% of is points are ppp. Dowd imo is a WAY better 200 foot player and comes in with term and a low cap hit. " no shot" maybe you should look into Dowd and what he can provide then see whats on the market

Caps wont deal Lindgren or Dowd. Both are basically holding together the team this year. A 1st for Dowd is wishful thinking too, but given his value to the Caps that is the only offer I would accept...

They’re hoping Monahan will be a 2nd liner. I think it’s an overpay but that’s where they are gonna play him. Dowd is a 4C on a good team no shot they pay a 1st for a 4c

Dowd is a top 10 defensive forward that starts the majority of Washington Dzone drops. JUST bc hes a 4c in Washington doesnt mean hes not better than that... Stephenson was a 4LW in DC also. he plays nearly 16 minutes a night. Monahan playes 18-19 minutes... 4th liners dont play 16 minutes a night. thats roughly 25% of the game

That was going to be my question too. Why is Nic Dowd, a 4C, worth a 1st (regardless of the 4th Rd coming back)?

Nic dowd is 33 and has 13 points chandler stephenson was 24 when he was last on the caps. I can see him getting a 2nd but no way is he getting 1st to play a defensive 4th line role on a contender

You have to look at the market and there has been talks that Dowd can be moved for a late 1st. 2 2nd rounders isn't out of the realm either. He's one of the best penalty killers and defensive forwards in the league.
