It would be stupid to trade Drake Batherson and Mathieu Joseph who provide a lot for their cap hits

Artem Zub is also absolutely needed, you just don't trade a RHD good defensively

I would not mind moving out anybody else but have to be careful about Chabot and Norris who might rebound very nicely somewhere else and Sens fans will be once again shaking their heads in disbelief seeing an ex Senator having success elsewhere

Batherson worries me from the 2018 Canada case

Joseph is a great 3rd liner who can play top 6 minutes a valuable assist but if given the right offer is available

Zub is a great player but I'd rather have timothy liljegren + than to keep him in his Prime as in 5 years he will be in the back 9 of his career.

Why? If anything, I think what happened recently kinda cleared his name...


Available for what? To get a picks/prospects? Don't we want to make the playoffs at some point? We need to ADD MORE players like Joseph, not less. Elite PK, top speed, good defensively, can make plays, all that for only 3 M$ per year.


Of course it always depends on what you get but Zub is actually underrated, he's essential right now. Sanderson-Zub have elite metrics recently

Since January 11th, among 189 D-men with at least 75 mins at ES, Zub ranks :

- 1st in CF% (8th in CF/60, 5th in CA/60)
- 3rd in SF% (6th in SF/60, 12th in SA/60)
- 1st in xGF% (14th in xGF/60, 3rd in xGA/60)

He's being ELITE right now.

That's a small sample size and liljegren isn't a prospect I'd expect player deals

Batherson is a great player but he's no better than Norris and isn't a play driver

Trading Zub would contribute in setting this team back. Not sure why you want to rebuild now?

Not the time to rebuild. Let Staios do his work, he needs to bring in a better supporting cast (a good defensive RHD and another forward in the Joseph mold would be a great start). Then figure out the coaching

Batherson and Joseph are assets to acquire a good RHD crookshank or Jarventie (when healthy) are knocking at the door and ostapchuck or haillday should be ready in 2-3 years.

It's really really doubtful that Jarventie and Crookshank become half as good as Batherson and Joseph

A RHD could be obtained another way, like on the UFA market
