Probably because Hart is not going to be back and Ersson has not proven he’s ready for full time starter.

While I will agree that it's unlikely that Hart returns, that is far from a certainty. And they have to wait until they have more info on Harts future before moving on. Errson has played better than Hart this season (other than the last 3 games). Regardless this team is still rebuilding, they aren't changing course at this point. Kolosov is holding his own in the KHL and should be over soon. No reason to do this deal.

true: hart is likely not coming back, but who knows (for all we know he is on vacation in the bahamas)
also true: ersson has been shaky in his last few starts, but from mid-november to last week he was better than hart
true again: flyers have fedotov, kolosov, bjarnason & zavragin in the system & all have potential to play in nhl, and have peterson + sandstrom for nhl minutes right now

do they need a goalie for the future? maybe, but the odds they give up prospects to acquire one are less than zero
