Jensen is an upgrade on Gudbranson (who the Caps can and should bury before trading again or buying out in the offseason) at effectively the same cost. That, plus what is looking to be a decently high 1st round pick and a 2nd rounder next year, is for Laine. Mantha is a complete throw-in to make both teams' lineups work, since he has shown he still has value enough not to be an albatross cap dump and is on an expiring deal. Not adding or subtracting actual trade value.

Plus, to make Leafs fans happy while probably still pissing them off, TvR! Plus Patches for scoring depth and NAK for whatever he is to you. Bert is the only thing that makes the cap work, and Robertson is the only real asset that makes the trade worthwhile for DC. Essentially - Patches for Robertson, TvR and NAK for Bert and a 3rd.

Caps lose a 1st round pick, but that's the cost of a former point per game 25 year old that you'd hope that pick eventually could turn into. Still have Kuemper and Kuzy to trade if anyone will take them, Edmunson as a rental for someone desperate, and Dowd and Lindgren if the offers are good enough and GMBM has had a couple stiff drinks for breakfast.
