Description
middle six natural center. Good pickup, I think he could be a good center weight for Cooley and Gunther. Give them more room to cook.

AZ adds the LHD to stabilize the blue line and they have a shot at a wild card playoff berth. Young, up and coming team with a ton of talent developing currently.

Sorry Calgary, sucks to be on the sell side of the equation. I do feel for the fans and the crap experience.

Ruzicka is the most inconsistent player I have seen in forever. If you look at all of his goals he put up last year he seemed to accidently be in a spot where someone else had made an excellent play and he was the beneficiary of it. He is horrendous in transition and if he spends any extended time in a zone he gets more than lost. Find on the rush but the puck goes to die on his stick. Putting him with two young developing studs would be terrible for their development.

Best of luck with Rosie. He just couldn't get going for the Flames this year. Hope he finds his game(and some consistency) with ARI, like Valimaki did.

I have watched him the last couple years. Agree that he seems to luck into his goals, which is why I have a feeling that he would be a good plug-in between an explosive puck mover (Cooley) and a sniper shot (Gunther). Just going to the net and skating hard on the forecheck and backcheck should be enough, Coach Bear can drive that int him. Ruzicka could also do the exact same job between Maccelli and Crouse. Very similar pair to Cooley, Gunther.

Don't get your hopes up for this. Expect a ton of outside the dots, low danger shots, soft board battles. He has 3 high danger shots all season.

I have seen quite a bit of Flames hockey and I always thought Ruzicka was incorrectly utilized. Calgary seemed to want him to fit into a 4th line grinder role and when he didn't play heavy enough as a center they shifted him to wing but still as a grinder. He is big but not overly physical and maybe better used in a middle six role.

Absolutely, in Canada. Considering his take home in AZ after the whopping 2.5% taxation would still be over 6MM, pretty sure he could live with the number comfortably.

According to capfriendly he'd pay and extra 300k a year in calgary. So 1.5 million over the term of the contract. Calgary offered him 7.5 million by 8 years so within roughly 1 year he recoups the taxes he'd save playing in Arizona.
