Assuming this is a playoff roster, I am not exactly sure Henrique is my 1st 2C pick, but he's more realistic than Lindy and better than Monahan. I don't think a 1st should be involved and the retention is unnecessary.

And I don't mind the Bellemare trade either. I liked him here, and if Ben Myers I'd the guy to go, so be it. He's probably leaving the Avs system after this year anyway.

Outside of moving the 1st (something the Avs are extremely unlikely to do unless they're getting a solid 2C that fits, has some term and doesn't blow their cap which is, needless to say, a tall order) this is something that is far more possible than 98% of what we see with Avs TDL options here.

TBH i think the Avs will move their 2024 1st this TDL. I know that's not exactly aligned with previous seasons' TDL, but they've run out of trade capital otherwise and the need for 2C is only going to get greater the longer the Avs are without Nuke. Getting a decent 2C without giving up one of the 3 half-decent prospects in the system is nice.

I think the Avs move the 1st if it gets them Lindholm. For all the other most likely options that are more 3C than 2C, Sakic/Mac just seem to be too shrewd of dealers to move the 1st.

They do tend to go out and get someone no one is thinking of (especially all of us on ACGM!), so depending on who that might be, the 1st could be in play, too.

yeah idk if the first is for henrique or not, but i just have a feeling they aren't afraid to use it this year to fix the obvious hole this team has.

This season is different from last year, we won't be running a 2nd line of matt nieto / lars eller / erod this playoffs. I know the Avs would love an RFA 2c but i doubt there's one to be had for our first alone.

My thing is if the avs get Henrique then the jets could add Lindholm it would be the worse case scenario.

I could see Carolina getting him but Winny is a possibility, too.

I will repeat: high-priced TDL adds rarely move the needle. Teams that win with big-time adds were already good and probably could have won without them. It doesn't hurt but it doesn't help all that much. If the Avs did trade the first and, say, Behrens and something else and managed to get Lindy and he were purely a rental and they DON'T win the Cup, next season they're right back where they started this past offseason: needing a 2C and working with diminishing assets but even more so. They've got to carefully weigh their chances this year versus keeping the window open as long as possible with this core.
