It's possible; I could see them trying it once but the cold, hard fact is that high-priced rentals rarely work in terms of getting a Cup. I get the idea of "going for it," especially with a wide-open field, though. IMO, they definitely should NOT be sending out Gulyayev or Ritchie for a rental; Gulyayev might be Girard replacement and Ritchie has the size and skillset to be a good 2C, which can help keep the window open longer.
