Robidias was actually old and hurt when he was sunset, Goodrow is 30 and healthy enough to play, that's called cap circumvention.

Goodrow visibly spit out a piece of his jaw onto the ice (yes a bone from his jaw, not a tooth) and had to drink food out of a straw for a month while wearing a fish bowl because of that injury. Not that healthy

Played to a #1 C, 8.5m contract worthy standard? I can't tell you that in good faith. But Chytil has played to a #2 C, 4.4m contract worthy standard, and that is in good faith.

So, stop deflecting and tell me in good faith that the MZ statement is true.

LOL. Zero goals and 6 assists for 0.60 pts per game is worthy of $4.4m/year? Than what is Trocheck's 1.25 pts per game centering the same line worth, double Chytil? You're absurd. Anyone that thinks Chytil is a better center than Mika has a ZERO hockey IQ and it's a waste of time to try to have a reasonable discussion.

Can't wait for the trade Panarin with 50% retention trades to reappear as soon as he has 4 or 5 games without a point.

All that and you still haven't told me in good faith that MZ is playing up to a #1 C, 8.5m a year contract. Talk about moving goalposts

Not that facts or logic mean anything to you but lets look at that.

You say Chytil has played up to his $4.4+ million dollar cap hit. Since this is his first season with that contract, that must mean you think ZERO goals and 6 assists or 0.60 pts/game equals $4.4/year. Throw in his abysmal 43% face off win rate 0+/- rating and the fact he doesn't kill penalties and is not physical at all and you have everything he has done.

Lets look at Mika since he signed at $8.5/year. 122 games 53 goals 77 assists, for 1.07 pts/game, plus he is a +29, has a 50.13% face off win rate, is a top notch penalty killer and great on the power play.

So if what Chytil has done since he signed at $4.4 million per year is earning his money, then what Mika has done is worth 3x's that, so at $8.5m/year he is a bargain.

Again, the facts don't fit your delusions.

Moving goalposts again. My original comment told you to tell me in good faith that MZ has been playing to a #1 C caliber THIS SEASON. I don't care about what he did last year, or the year before that, or the year before that. And you're dragging Chytil into this for no reason because I never mentioned him until you did. This is strictly talking about Zibanejad's performance in the 2023-24 season.

So without talking about irrelevant extraneous ****, tell me in GOOD FAITH that ZIBANEJAD has played to a #1 C, 8.5m contract worthy standard THIS SEASON

OK...YOU said Chytil's play justifies his $4.4+ million cap hit THIS season. Explain HOW. How does ZERO goals and 6 assists in 10 games centering Panarin and Laffy THIS SEASON worth $4,437,500 per year? YOU explain that and then I will explain Mika. Go ahead....in good faith.

Simple. First of all, it wasn't 10 games so saying it was 10 games when he got hurt in the first period of game 10 is disingenuous. So we go to 6 points in 9 games, or .66 points/per game. If Chytil never got hurt, and played a full 82 game season, he would've been on pace for roughly 54 points. And that's not even counting goals, which would've eventually come. Unless you think Chytil turned into Sammy Blais over the summer and was genuinely not going to score any goals all season. But you can't, in good faith, tell me that you honestly believed Chytil would have 0 goals in 82 games.

Even if Chytil regressed from his 22 goal season last year, and scored 15 goals total (which wouldn't be the case, he would likely score 30+ being on that line with Panarin), but for argument's sake let's just say he scored 15 goals in 82 games. So, 15 goals + 54 assists = 69 points. So I'd say 69 points in 82 games for a #2 C at 4.4m is an excellent deal for the Rangers. And keep in mind that's being EXTREMELY conservative regarding goals scored.

So go ahead and tell me in good faith that MZ is performing at a #1 C, 8.5m contract worthy standard in 2023-24. I don't want to hear more bs about Chytil and deflections to things that are off topic. Just tell me that one thing. In good faith.

So you think scoring at 0.66/points per game centering one of the best LW's in the game and Laffy is worth $4.4+ million per season? Then I guess Trocheck is worth DOUBLE that, at least, just on scoring stats and without even considering he is much better at faceoffs, defensively and kills penalties. You remember Trocheck, a center you say Chytil is better than.

Mika meanwhile scores at a point per game clip, even when not scoring at his best, plays very good defense, is a great penalty killer and has one of the best one timers in the league and is a huge part of one of the best power plays in the game. And his line has been hampered by not having a true top 6 RW all year, while Chytil and Trocheck center a complete top 6 line. So if Chytil is worth $4.4+/million per year, and Mika scores significantly more points per game, even without a top 6 RW on his line, and is way better at faceoffs, and better defensively, and is a top penalty killer and power play specialist, then he is worth AT LEAST 2x's Chytil money wise. AT LEAST. Chytil has promise, assuming he ever plays again, but so far he can't even carry Mika or Trocheck's jock, and that is just a FACT.

And it's also hysterical how you justify his cap hit with "projected" stats. Who knows what he WOULD score, lets talk about what he DID score, which is ZERO goals in 10 games and just 6 assists. But you don't want to because those FACTS don't align with your delusions, so you just make up goals and point totals to justify your position. Truly sad.

What's sad is the fact that I've told you 4.4 million times that I'm not interested in talking about Chytil or Trocheck because this thread is about ZIBANEJAD and ZIBANEJAD alone. But you keep deflecting to irrelevant topics (Chytil and Trocheck) because you can't flat-out tell me, in good faith, that Zibanejad is playing like a #1 C this year. Or is worth 8.5m this year.

Zibanejad hasn't scored a goal since Dec 29th. Btw, the Rangers have had 26 powerplays since Dec 29th and he's scored on NONE of them. So much for being a huge contributor and his lethal one-timer. If you actually paid attention you would know that the 1st powerplay unit is completely stale and teams have figured out this redundant setup that we've been using for years. He's ineffective on the powerplay now and is about to get kicked off in favor of Lafreniere who mixes it up and doesn't just stand in one spot doing the same tired move. And if he's ineffective on the powerplay, and CERTAINLY ineffective at 5v5.... what is he being paid 8.5m for? What is he doing that makes him a #1 Centre in 2023-24? Because we were just on a terrible losing streak and he did nothing to help.

And don't mention Chytil or Trocheck or any other Ranger again. I don't care about them in this situation. I'm talking about Zibanejad and am focused on Zibanejad and I'm not interested in moving goalposts because you can't admit that Zibanejad flat out sucks this year.

This is nothing more than an excuse and delusional coping. His LW is the best power forward in the league. If he needs an elite LW AND an elite RW to carry him he's not #1 C material. Panarin doesn't have elite talent on his line (well maybe Lafreniere but too soon to tell) and that's not stopping him from putting up points. And Kakko is a possession monster and a fine #1 RW. Zibanejad did nothing with Kakko on his line before Kakko got hurt.

Well let's use your logic then. I project Mika will have the best 40 games of his life the second half of the year and end up scoring 45 goals, 65 assists for 110 points, well worth his cap hit. LOL

LOL. Yet Chytil's 0.60 pts per game with Panarin and Laffy is worth $4.4m/year in your delusional world. You're absurd.

Zib says stop, seriously, nmc. Chytil in the lineup, stop seriously. Zib having a quiet start, sure. Zib playing important minutes like usual while quietly posting ppg. Do you actually watch the games? These are all fantasy hockey card ideas lol

All this yapping and continuously bringing up Chytil just shows me that you can't in good faith tell me that MZ is playing like a #1 C this year. Ok good talk

Zibanejad NMC? Scratch until he waives

Chytil in lineup? Currently practicing with Jagr over in Czechia so it's possible

I watch the games and that's why I can tell MZ isn't a #1 C this year. He had a terrible start, got into form for a couple weeks, now is terrible again

All this yapping about things you obviously have no idea about...ok, good talk.

    BTW....Chytil can't carry Mika or Trocheck's jock.
