Gee, I don't understand these trades. Ottawa has lots of cap room.
Eriksson has just one year on this contract and Blith has shown no inkling of being a NHLer. Philips and Chaisson may help the Sens this year and then you propose that Ottawa sends Boston three draft picks? Seems like the trade hurts Ottawa now and in the future.
Don't know if Calgary would give up on Backlund for the one year then UFA Michalek and a 6th or 7th Dman. Calgary has lots of Dmen now, and in the future.
The Isles trade sorta works out as Harmonic for two first rounders (Chabot and future). That may be too steep to pay for Ottawa. Better just to keep Philips and Boroweicki.
