If someone wanted scoring Monahan is an awful choice. Only 8 ES points playing first line minutes.

Winnipeg needs a 2C, not a 4C. He has no value to Winnipeg and isn't worth anywhere close to that.

I wouldn't say he's that awful, and sure, he gets most of his points on the power play (via the amazing powers of deduction) .. his hip problems over the years have probably made him a less effective skater, probably can't turn as tightly/quickly at higher speeds, etc, his effectiveness might just be on the power play. In the right situation (a team needing a power play guy), he'd be a good fit for the right price.

I'd agree I don't think he's a fit for Winnipeg's game. I've watched some games this year out of sheer interest, since they're doing so well to this point.. they look like a disciplined team, play with pace on both offence and defence. Not sure Monahan could keep up with how they play and be the even strength contributor.
