Why is it called the Dab line when there's no A in even any of Bjork Heinen or DeBrusk? Are you counting first names? and if so, that's not a very tight form of logic used to create this. I'm also not really sure any of those players are goofy enough to think that move is cool. You either have to like smoking weed, which probably none of them do, or be a silly little kid that doesn't even know how it originated, which none of them are.
If all of that does happen, then Heinen is probably the guy at C for that line, pretty sure he played more C in college than Bjork.
This is 2018/2019 so I have to think that if Vatrano has a break out year he'll sign for more than $1M. If you are suggesting he has a crappy year this coming year and then signs for 1M I don't think he'd get 3 years on the contract offered to him. It's probably either 3 years at bigger money if he plays well in 2017 or 2 years or less at cheap money.
I think your trade is heavily favoring Boston. I get that McQuaid seems to add toughness to the untrained eye, but that's really just as a fighter, which doesn't happen much in the playoffs. He's probably the most injury prone guy on the team so how in that sense would he be considered tough? Also Beleskey isn't tough at all, he's just kinda dumb and doesn't know how to quit when he's losing or has already lost. Really neither of those guys are very tough, but they do get some hits, if that's what you mean by "adding toughness". I think Dallas does much better for a 1st round pick. If you made the pick a 4th and said we just did it to move some cap, then It could be fair from both sides.
Signing Chara to come back at 2M when you have a bunch of cap space is insulting. If he comes back he'll probably be our best defenseman still and deserves to be paid like it. I almost think it's insulting that he's playing for only 4M this year, as he deserves about 6 to be a top pairing dman. If we extend him, look for him to get a raise from his 4M.
