Seattle moving one of their top point getters who’s only 28 and on pace to hit between 20-25 goals & 60-70 points? Moving one of the few true building blocks they have to obtain a guy who’s paid 8.7 on a long term deal and his failing to live up to expectations. true currently producing at a 20 point pace lower than Bjorkstrand.
Honestly that would be a terrible move on Seattles part in my opinion. I get that’s why the Kent Johnson part of the trade exists. Yes Laine could refind his game. I’ve always been a big advocate of taking risks when a player has a history of high or higher production. But honestly in this case if the sole purpose is to “move Laine” then Columbus could accomplish that, plausibly even to Seattle without having to include Kent Johnson and I’m almost certain it wouldn’t involve Bjorkstrand either. Yamamoto I could see being part of the deal in some form but Bjorkstrand to me just wouldn’t make any sense for them to do such a thing.
