Personally don't find the package very inciting. The two players with actual value are a bit of a question mark - Hayton wasn't having a great season prior to getting injured and Soderstrom couldn't hack it on the worst team in the league last season.

I mean you could just LTIR Voracek and Calgary wouldn't need to retain. Maybe there is a rule about it being too late to do that but, seems like the easier thing to do.

I think the offer is alright, I'm not high on Hayton, Soderstrom looks good but, you have to wonder why he's had 2 cracks at the NHL and yet he can't stick with the team and Kesselring seems to have jumped him on the depth chart and got the first call up this year playing very well. Brown is a bottom guy.

Tough to judge

AZ is waiting to put their guys on LTIR to maximize the LTIR pool prior to the deadline. There isn't a deadline for it explicitly except that they would want to do it when their cap hit is at its highest (which is why they aren't on LTIR right now)

I don't see Hayton or Brown as being of interest. AZ has enough picks and players on their reserve list to not have to take any cap back. If they are serious about the playoffs, they can easily put the best package forward.

Why would Arizona do that?
