That second line didn't perform very well this season, not sure the benefit of putting them back together.

Giroux will have either the same or less amount of production if he plays with guys who can only crash the net.

MacDonald will be with Provorov, as head coach Dave Haxstall is in love with him

That first line was fantastic once Weal was brought up last year and was probably the best G looked with anyone all year

The second line was solid until Coots got hurt and then they never really clicked again. I think it's worth looking at but flipping Weal for Konecny or Jake for Simmer would be fine with me too. Also Lindblom could find his way into the top six.

Macdonald has no business getting twenty minutes a game and Gudas has been the second best defenseman since he got here so that's more of a hope and prayer that he supplants AMac on the depth chart.

The reason I like the lineup like this so much is that all four lines should drive play and the players could complement each other well.

The reason why Giroux did so well is because he played with Weal AND Voracek. Not Weal and another net front presence. If you want to be as realistic as possible, you should know that Provorov and MacDonald are joined at the hip.

Weal and Simmer were linemates essentially the entire time he was up and their time was split between Filppula and Giroux but agree to disagree. I'm pretty open to the wingers being flipped throughout the top 6 anyway.

I hope you're wrong about Macdonald and Provorov and I think we may dodge that bullet because Hakstol seems to like to stick Mac with whatever rookie is playing (ie Ghost in 15-16 and Provy last season)
