The trade is basically:
-Batherson for Lafreniere 1 for 1
-Tarasenko @ 1.25M for a 2026 3rd+2024 4th
-Chicago is a placeholder for a third party team who will facilitate the trade. The historical cost for this is usually a 4th, but it could be any team.
-Tarasenko has a NMC and while he has been solid, is not the same player he used to be. A 2nd or 3rd seems reasonable considering he will choose how destination.
-Batherson was the Senators best player prior to his injury 2 years ago. His lack of a commitment to a 2 way game and his contract being moveable might make him a target for a management group that needs a shakeup. Lafreniere is not a great fit due to handedness, but that is a short term problem.

Tank for laf 1 for 1 OTT would do, no chance in hell OTT adds a almost point per game 25 YO RW on one of the best contracts in the NHL.
