think vanek takes more than 1 mil after a 48 point season. team needs a rebuild but its tough with those 2 guys at 10.5 and seabrook at 6.875. One of those teams that might make a surprise in the playoffs, or fight for that lottery pick. only time will tell

I also wouldn't put Vanek on the top line RW. He's naturally a LW which the Hawks need. Combined with Panik played well there last year and Hartman is the #1RW of the future. Either one of them would probably fit better. Heck, he might even flourish opposite of Kane.

How do the Hawks need to rebuild? Retool yes, exactly what they're doing, rebuild no. You don't rebuild with a top 5 point guy in your team.

I wasn't sure how much Vanek will cost. There is room to pay more if he is right guy. Im more worried about Panik lasting on first line all year. The addition of Vanek and Bozak can create a scoring 3rd line. Mix in Dauphen turco wingles Hayden and cobble a 4th line. Same with d men. I like pollack to team with a young guy. If grandson can b had for a cheap price add him too. Finally debrincat being able to play, which I think he can with Kane, and a return to form by Toews could make this an exciting year
