I dont think the Leafs decline to pay him more than 10.... Cap is going up 4 million and Tavares's 11 mil comes off the books the following year and probably drops down to 7-8 mil.

Pesce and Hanifin are long shots but not crazy. You can sign to more term but it really not that ridiculous

Leafs are waiting because he had such a hot start. If he kept his pace he would be around 11 million. Once he slows down to the 80-90 point pace Leafs will gladly pay him 10.

I dont know about you but I do not want to see him walk. Been the best playoff forward for the leafs the last 2-3 years.

Oh I agree we cannot let him walk but I would be furious if they paid him more then ten I can’t think his ask is coming up as leafs are trying to low ball him they’ll eventually get to ten and he will accept it
