Islanders pass. We need more. Ik thats a lot but Dobson is the only reason we can ever score on the PP, he is one of the very few talents we have on this team. I love Willander and a 1st is nice but its gonna be in the mid to late 20s and is over a year out, thats someone not playing in the NHL til like 2027-2030. Just not worth it.

Make it Lekkermaki though and we are talking, but obviously thats a lot for Vancouver to give up for anyone

I think Lekkermaki, 2024 1st, 2026 2nd, Garland, Tolo is fair.

but if you meant Lekkermaki swapping out Tolo and it's Wallinder and Tolo. That's just a bit too much. He's a fantastic player, but that buy is too hard to swallow.

Honestly I don’t think Vancouver/ isles make for good trade partners. Dobson is a top 5 RD in the NHL and young top pair RD are one of the most valuable assets in the league. Isles would need a prospect that has high odds of becoming a star.

There’s little to np chance isles trade him, but teams like Anaheim/columbus are the type of teams that
Would have the assets to acquire Dobson

If Dobson were on Calgary, I would hang on to him with everything I have. Just 23, and a perfect candidate to be the backbone of a re-tool, keep Barzal too, but see what they can get for valuable veterans, returns that could help the receiving team now, and the Islanders soon and beyond.

I mean, if they feel like re-tooling that way.. so far they are middle of the pack this season, and Isles' fans, you'll have to help me out here, but it feels like they've depleted their system of truly high quality talent over recent years. Perhaps they could use an infusion of younger guys and near-ready prospects. I read somewhere, maybe just an opinion, but Dufour is supposed to be pretty decent, yea? Holmstrom and Wahlstrom have talent for sure, but I really haven't heard of any of the other prospects' names under contract at least. Who is up and coming, and what are their ceilings?

They have no prospects with top 6 potential unfortunately. They should sell off some of their vets with value and try to get younger for sure
