Much Much better uses of the money than Kane imo

I wanted to have some offense and Kane is still good in that category, at this cap hit I saw it as hard to not include even if he is just a PP player.
Who would you include instead? Who would you remove to make the change?

ANd use the money whereever you want to make the rest of the squad better

Hagel and JVR are included on the team.
Hayton, Zetterlund, Barabanov, M. McLeod, R. McLeod, Martinook, Frost, Eller and Kubalik I wouldn't put above Kane.
Stephenson and Mittelstadt are close, I did consider putting Mittelstadt but I wanted to stay as positionally true to real life as I could (ex. he would be a C).

Also there is a weird consensus on this site right now that Kane is going to come back and be a dump which I'm not really understanding...
He's good cause of his Vision, Offensive IQ, Shot Placement and General Puck Skills, none of that really gets impacted by his surgery.
I get the defensive side of things but just utilize him in the O-Zone and on PP's, limiting D-Zone (and even N-Zone if you're extreme) starts.
Plus he isn't in pain anymore, which is good isn't it?

Kane is horrific defensively, old, washed, and coming off surgery. Even best case him returning to strong offensively, him being the worst defensive forward in hockey tanks his value.

Don't really agree with that but can see the value you place in defensively strong forwards.
Guess time will tell, Kane's first game is in 5 days supposedly, I think he will be good (or at the very least not a dump) but we'll see how it goes.

I didn't say it was a bad contract. I'm saying with the choice of every single contract in the NHL, you don't pick the horrific defensively 2.75 mill 35 year old coming off surgery. He just got that deal in UFA 5 days ago, hasn't played a game since to increase that value. At best you could argue that 2.75 is his market value

Ok apologies for my comments then, yes this is not the worst contracts thread...I agree maybe he should be on the scratch list at least then vs top line.
