Caps decline here. Bemstrom could've been picked up off waivers and Boqvist wouldn't have a place on the defense, DC is much better off keeping Kuznetsov.

As a Caps fan I don't hate it, because I like both of those young players, but I don't think they'd fit with the Caps going forward. They are stacked at RHD for years to come.

Bemstrom and Boqvist both stink but then again so does Kuzy. I would probably want at least one viable NHLer coming back for him to make a move right now so would probably decline at this stage.

If you claimed him off waivers he’d have to be on your NHL roster. Right now he’s in the AHL so he could be stashed without clearing. He’s got talent. Columbus just ha a very crowded roster right now.

Now that Boqvist has gotten a couple games he’s started to get back in the groove and is looking pretty good. His defense is still suspect, but that can improve. Guys with his offensive skills don’t come available all the often.

He has some of the worst defensive impacts in the league and .22 ppg. At 23 and almost 200 NHL games there isn't much runway left. There's a reason CBJ -- who have maybe a bottom 5 defense corps in the league -- are trying to move him.
