It's time to move on from the core four completely. It hasn't worked. It's crazy it has reached this point without any change. You can't build a serious Stanley Cup roster by paying four forwards 11 million each. It's stupid and crazy.

It's not much. A 1st for Nylander, another 1st for the retention, a couple of bottom of the roster players. Nylander is on a 100 point pace and would put a Stanley cup contender over the top, much like Gaborik did for the Kings in 2012.

Does this mean the Leafs haven't been a Stanley Cup contender at any point during the Matthews era or your logic that Nylander would put a contender over the top is flawed?
