Jack unfortunately probably never gets it even though he's developed into a quality defensive forward. Slow start to career+small guy=bad defensive reputation forever.

I'm a pretty regular Canucks watcher and I'd say he's 6th at best in terms of defensive play. Suter and Blueger are really solid(which is why we signed em), Laf has been great, Joshua has also played pretty well and Miller is flat out our best two-way guy; he's trying, blocking shots, backchecking and putting up great numbers.

But have you considered the fact that JT miller bad defensively bc he yelled at his goalie that one time and reputation

Pettersson has been struggling defensively (and in general tbh) since the game against Toronto. He seems like he’s playing injured right now, kinda worried it might be the same wrist injury that he was dealing with a couple seasons ago as he seems pretty reluctant to shoot the puck, especially on the PP in one timer opportunities

Doesn’t deserve Selke consideration this season so far, but I definitely think he’s skilled enough defensively to win one in the future
