Yeah, Pageau was a fan favorite in Ottawa and at 2.5 AAV for 2.5 years it's not that bad as he can still contribute defensively...

Problem is who plays wing?

Stutzle, Norris, Greig, Pinto, Kastelic are all centers, plus Ostapchuk and Jarventie

And cap space, Sens will need that space for Pinto and to re-sign or replace Tarasenko

Ya it completely depends on their situation but if Tarasenko leaves and there aren't any great top 6 replacement available that are good fits, I would consider this trade and run:

Joseph-Stutzle-Giroux
Tkachuk-Norris-Batherson
Greig-Pinto-Pageau

Pageau adds great veteran leadership, helps with Centre depth that Sens have desperately needed over the past few seasons, and most importantly gives them a reliable defensive forward.

Not saying I would do it, but it's an option that I would have to at least consider.
