Vladimir Sobotka typically has a face off precentage around 55%, has around 120 hits a season, starts around 52% of his shifts in the defensesive zone, scores around 25-35 points a season (on teams not known for elite scoring) and has always had positive relative possession numbers. Seems like a solid Bonino replacement to me. Plus, he may be expendable in St. Louis with the acquisitions of Brayden Schenn, Oskar Sundqvist and the emergence of Ivan Barbashev last season.
Ray Shero may still see value in Pouliot and the Devils have picks to burn. The Devils defence is a mess. The least Pouliot can do is replace Merrill who is gone to Vegas or he could pull a Schultz and begin to reach his potential becoming a top 4 option for the devils. This stops the Pens from ruining Pouliot's career and give them 2 picks in each round after the round they have no pick, in the next two entry drafts.
Jussi Jokinen has the ability to play center and has done so in the past. Brian Dumoulin signs for 4 year at $2,750,000. Dumo is a great driver of possession but he just lacks the offensive totals to get a big pay check.
Sobotka and Jokinen can share the PK time of Bonino and Cullen while Jokinen can replace Bonino on the 2nd PP unit. Jokinen also has the ability to move up the lineup for injuries.
