Tyler Kleven is NOT NHL ready, Hamonic is not very good anymore and that pairing would get exposed like crazy

The gap between Brannstrom and any of the other non Top-4 D-men Sens have (Hamonic, Guenette, JBD, Thomson, Matinpalo, etc) is gigantic at the moment in terms of recovery quickness, puck moving, transition, defensive ability and hockey IQ.

Simply trade Kubalik for anything you can get. He's UFA-to-be (won't have the cap space to re-sign him as we already need to replace (and ideally upgrade) Tarasenko) and no spot on the PP for him when Norris and Pinto are playing.


He's way way more valuable to Ottawa than a 3rd round pick would ever be.

If he is not worth a 3rd (100% doubt it) then you keep him for sure. It's not because "he has not been traded yet" (usual response I'd get from various posters) that he doesn't have value. Maybe Ottawa doesn't really want to move him and certainly not for an underwhelming return like a 3rd

Sharks got Thrun for a 4th and I genuinely think he has more upside. Maybe someone pays you a 3rd but it won’t likely be the sharks

I understand, Sharks have their own projects to try as they are rebuilding. A team who wants to get better NOW and have a NEED for Brannstrom would pay more. There's many that would since he's one of the best 3rd pairing D-men in the league and has upside for more.
